A bit of a birding milestone for me yesterday, I actually beat my all-time monthly bird list for East Glam. Having just seen the WT at Eggy Nun, I went back to Metropolis (home of the CB's) via the Vale and ticked off Common Gull & Yellowhammer, taking my total past Sept. 2002, my previous best [115]. It now stands at 116 with 3 days to go. I still need some easy species too: Pochard & Green Woodpecker for two. I suppose many could beat that total, esp. the KNNR local birders or the year-listers, however plodding along, ticking other peoples birds - thanks all - and doing a few local tides, a most pleasurable month to say the least.
*: Finally just a big thank you to all you birders out there that have supported the GRC and me especially, in my first year of being CR. I must say it's been a pleasure and an honour. The GRC have worked hard to gain your trust and will continue to do so. Well done to all observers in our recording area: both West & East. Cheers David/Jake/Meriwether/CB or whatever !

Thank you Br. Wader. Lets hope that we'll hear less of the CB's and more of the megas.
