Richard's Pipit showed very well in rough-grass area otherside of the Roman wall [250m east of Cors Crycydd reen]. Full scope views were obtained by several observers.
Also: Green Sandpiper, Snipe, Wheatear, Peregrine, Siskin and a late Common Whitethroat. Also of note was a constant passage of Blue Tits, all moving east c100.

The bird is a juvenile, I couldn't see any evidence of onset of moult to first-winter plumage then only saw left side of bird when we had it perched on the twig. Storming views, well worth the effort, and well done Alex for relocating it after Cardiff Clive's earlier sighting. Got a sketch if you need it, but can't imagine it will better Rob's.
Tom chinnick ( gwent) ventured into our domain and got a good scope shot , available from their cr later I understand. As we chatted I realised I'd worked with his father eons ago and passed on his first bird guide. This world gets smaller every day..
