Seems to have short wings and the black tail tips are interesting. I would have agreed with Joek that it looks like some sort of Redpoll but as you have ruled that out cannot think of a normal British Bird - but try Snow Finch.
With so many excellent bird photographers in vc41 it's just gotta be A BAD PHOTO!!!

Firstly my apologies, I was of cource referring to 'you' as in the 'royal' 'you', as opposed to the Swansea 'ewe' which of course should always be pronounced 'eeeewwwwwoooooo'. Sadly there are still no winners. Not been anywhere near Kent for years, much as I still need Rustic Bunting.
