Waxwings

There was at least one Waxwing feeding in Bute Park til at least 8.30am. Favouring the white berries amongst the small area of berried bushes at the foot of the new road bridge entrance, just past the Music college. Also a flock now of 20+ in Barry around Greenway Court.

With regards to the poll, when was bob seen at kenfig and was it by the same guy who had that cuckoo?

Sadly the identity of the bobolink finder is something that remains a mystery to date. News reached us a week or so after the 'real' bobolink at Eglwys that another/ or the same had been found/ re-found at Kenfig. All the news we had was that it was seen well and identified to species, so your guess is as good as mine?!

Either way, a cracking canidate for a SO'o'TY award. Who will win a SOoTy this year? The choice is yours!

I think the mystery Bobolink finder will have a clean sweep at the SOoTY awards....:-)
At least 21 Waxwings behind The Glenbrook pub in Barry at c12.30 today seen with The Wader and a strange bloke.

There should be a prize for identifying the identity of the Bob identifier,i got no problem with that identity if the price/prize is right.
Come on tempt me.

A sticky bun?

Sadly the bobolink record looks lost unless the finder submits a description so I suspect we'll never know who had it. Pity.

I should point out there are some other classics up for a SOoTY this year.

Clive makes the shortlist with a 'fly away' GWE at RGW. A classic record and another worthy attempt by Clive to snatch the title.

The poopster wades in with a not only seen, but heard Wryneck at Nash Point. More quality stringing from Gwentyshires finest.

Not content with being made the 'lord god of birdwatching' for Glamorgan, CR clearly wants a SOoTy for the mantlepiece and with a timely 'large shearwater' off Lavernock, he duely made the shortlist with plenty to spare.

Leaving arguably the best to last comes the Marsh Warbler at Mewslade....I mean, they had it in the hand, with a ruler, calipers, a book, the internet and a bloody equation to work it out ....not that I'm trying in anyway to sway the vote....ahhmm

let us not forget that Poopert's fantastic string also included his supporting cast of a very dodgy flock of fly-over Twite, just to ensure he got himself on the SOoTY short list. Some people will call just about anything to get their mitts on a SOoTY.
