Parc slip reserve.
Jack snipe and 2 Water rail on the pond by the centre.
There's a fabulous pic of a Jack Snipe on the Portland Obs site under the 3rd Dec entry of Latest News. Looks like it's crossing the road to the Bill. Also some nice wintry pix of the Bill further down.
Never mind that - you did well to see it by the look of it! I flushed one at Rhymney Est the other week, noted exactly where it landed. Could I then fnd the bugger - nooo, not until I turned away having given up, and it flew off again!

Yep, it's a great pic John. I had to take these through a reedbed.

They can run quite fast, as this one did a few times when a Water rail came too close.
