Roath Park Lake: 26 Waxwings in trees in on Lake Road West (13.10) near boat stage, plus lots of Redwings and Fieldfares in the Park.
Cathays Cemetery: 4 Waxwings directly behind Cathays Library (13.30), having flown in from Gladstone School. Again, lots of Redwings and Fieldfares feeding on berries.
Dalton Street, Cathays: unusual and probably sad sight of Meadow Pipit desperately searching food amongst park cars in the middle of a busy street.

I had a Mipit in the garden searching for food amongst the mass of chaffinch and thrushes. It didn't look happy bless it. There were 6 common snipe feeding on the water's edge of the Taff as it flowed through the village, presumably as it's the only unfrozen water and they can at least feed along a narrow snow free strip there. All in all it's not the only thing that's Baltic at the moment.
