SWAN SP?



I photographed this bird in the distance with a small compact camera,zoomed in it may well be a Bewick's. Over Lamby lake.

If you enlarge the lower shot the yellow on the bill looks quite pointed, so I would suggest Whooper. I notice Cardiff Clive posted a fly-over Whooper on the GBC site this morning at Lamby/P.Tredelerch.

I'd go for Mute Swan - pointed tail beyond feet, black lores & mottled brown juv plumage.
