Peterstone Wentlooge, Gwent

Yesterday (30th) evening's high tide: Bar-tailed Godwit (29), Whimbrel (20+), Grey Plover (4), Knot (2), Dunlin (40+), Ringed Plover (2), Greenshank (1), Turnstone (1), Wigeon (5), Cuckoo (1), steady trickle of Swifts and Swallows up-channel off-shore.

Went down to Portland but unfortunately missed the Bee-Eater. However I understand that on previous day 6000 Barwits were logged past the Bill. About 20 at Lodmoor would have represented a photographers dream. Puffin & Ring Ousel provided some compensation with 3 Sp Terns but not a single Skua due to wind direction.
