No competition just a comparison!!
Jeffs lens is brilliant. The more expensive 400mm appears to be better when a 1.4 is added - very strange!
Question = will the 500 be better with a 1.4x also - Jeff has pictures....................

Great photos Rich,thanks to yourself and Sue for a very nice evening yesterday,Teresa and myself really enjoyed.
Great fun playing around with the two lenses,there really is nothing in it,they are both fantastic !!
What I did learn is that I'll be getting a 1.4x converter soon (don't tell Teresa though).

Those are some of the finest chimney pot photographs I have ever seen. Breath taking.

I have a new chimney pot which you are more than welcome to come round and take some shots of. It's very shiny and it's not actually put on straight, so it leans at a jaunty angle (another top class installation from Aspect Heating and Gas Services), which is different.
