Cardiff Bay

Palpitations this morning on the barrage when a Swift with a short tail appeared and flew up & down over the barrage for a couple of mins then was lost as it flew high over Penarth. 'Chimney' immediately jumped out from the memory banks! However as it flew back & forth over me a few times it revealed itself as a Common Swift with a severely damaged tail, with the ends of the retrices all broken off unevenly! Also a.m. - 9 Common and 1 Arctic Tern by the barrage outfall and 1 Common Tern at R. Taff by Hamadryad and in the bay early p.m. 1 mouting ad Med Gull on the playing field behinds the flats on opp side of Taff to Hamadryad. Also 1 Wheatear opp the Ice rink.
