If anyone can beat this Jackdaw nest for size you're welcome to your place in the Book of World Records....and for the record this was in the roof of a school in the Rhondda, standing nearly 6ft tall and even wider at the base! Estimating its age is always going to be difficult but having visited eagle eyries that were decades old and had been added to year on year by the occupants, I wouldn't be surprised if this nest 'structure' was easily of a similar age if not older.

no it aint, to determine age dig down to th bottom nest and read the date on the paper you'll find there. Failingb that a nest can also be aged by weighting the milk bottle tops which got lighter with each passing decade. Hope this is of use to you...
