That time of the year approaches
Its nearly October and thoughts drift away from rares and apparitions to THE event of the year, the event on every ones calender, the Christmas curry. This year we are looking at booking a meal in High street,Llandaff, which means we would have the choice of 4 pubs within yards of each other for cigars and brandy afterwards. Tuesday 13th December looks favourable. Please advise asap if you want to join us so we can book asap. All are obviously welcome.

In. And only 3 pubs as the heathcock has been closed for months, no sign of it reopening.
Please note all attendees will be awarded at least one prize each. If you attend, a speech lasting no more than 25 seconds will be expected on receipt of said prize. Please also note that during individual speeches no mention must be made of the following topics:
1) Tight shorts

5) Squirrels

The attendee wearing the tightest pair of shorts of the evening will have his/ her meal paid for by the Cardiff Bird Club Trust Fund.
After dining all attendees will be pleased to note that the CBC will be offering free 'time travel' following a recent scientific breakthrough in the Taffs Well Inn that appears to show that sub-atomic particles travel faster than the speed of light.
For anyone wanting to catch up with missed county ticks down the years this will be a must. After lengthty discussions that lasted seconds we've set the clock on our time machine to September 2007, location Sker Point......need we say more?
PS Could all current prize holders please make ready to return your treasured awards. Please ensure they are all polished and we would of course like to point out to CR that Judd has kindly requested that if we do award you any of the prizes listed above, that we do include lubricant and if at all possible your prize is at least more anotomically forgiving than a pewter pigeon. With this in mind, if you could give Murray an extra special polish (preferably a good soak in disinfectant)before returning it we'd be grateful.

Not much on Rand? Proper tight shorts weather though innit!
Bit of a quiet one Misty. Have to agree with the shorts during warm spells such as this. Proper tight ones are so much better than your modern baggy types.
There's also the Bar next to the curryhouse in Llandaff so that'll make it 5 drinking establishments. I never really thought of the Heathcock as a Llandaff pub, it being far to close to the riff raff from Llandaff North for my liking.
Count me in - would love to see the Old Butchers again (complete with nicotine stained ceiling)after so many years - I was once a regular from the age of 17.
We had an escape route over the back wall if the landlord (Gus) caught us.
Ahhh! those were the days.
Count me in chaps (I'm not actually in Chaps as I'm typing but could be on the 13th or would you prefer traditionally tight shorts?).
Ps. Watch this space for a few photos of our fun and frolics (and some wildlife) during our recent trip to California (well, mostly San Francisco) xx
I'm in and I'll return the "Einstein" on the night, not been put to much use this year though wot with Eggy Nun being closed, hopefully the next recipient will have more luck with it !
Count me in. Late response as just back from Portugal and internet down till today due to problem with BT lines.
Don't write off autumn yet though - its still young.
