You are missing the point Slap, its not where you go but who you go there with. Some are lucky, others are fantastically lucky ,take your pick and let the good birds roll

I want to go there with you Misty; I think after a few smokes we would be knee-deep in exotic pelagic avifauna

No probs Mr Seymour, but despite my liking for strong gwyrdd my sightings are always based on reality, therefore I mostly see nothing of great interest.
However, I am putting together a Spawny bastard/Outrageous Liar index of the Counties birders, which should be completed and posted within a day or two.
It has to be said that at the moment it's top heavy with middle earth birders and northern cousins with one fast rising star from the Metropolis pushing them hard

Fcukin hell that was quick, already had two phone calls threatening an injunction to stop the list getting online, pity they didn't put as much effort into correctly id these birds in the first place...

Well done Misty. Good to see you're taking on the role of the 'birding policeman' here in the fair shire. I assume you're basing your role and the production of your list/ database on the 'George Michael' of British Birding, LGRE and his statisically proven fact that 41.3678952% of all birders are down-right liars?

With this in mind you'll need a new 'handle' with which to wield your mighty sword of birding justice. I was thinking along the lines of the Jeff Lebowski of Glamorgan birding? Or perhaps the Cheech and Chong?

Just as LGRE has led his life just as the maveric of pop, George Michael, you too can claim to have lived yours like the virtuous and pious Dude.

I fully expect you to become County Recorder one day. All in favour, say I.....I

I think in Glamorganshire(If I ever become CR I will do my utmost to make it a Shire) the percentage is slightly lower but we do have a few scattered about.
To be honest its great as they bring a smile to many an honest birder who goes out and generally sees nowt of note

Its a question of learning the technique. You study the news and find out what rarities are about. Tnen when you get a glimpse of something flying past it gives you a clue as to what it might be.

Above should read - razorbill,3 pintail,39 common guillemot, 14 aylesbury ducks,200 canada geese this morning past the lighthouse 11- 11.30

I like your theory Maurice,it clearly works.

Note to self: Northern waterthrush,Pomm skua and corys' at Lavernock. The SOoTY awards this year are going to be entertaining me thinks, particularly as one or two of us have been tarred with the tag of 'most hated in Glamorgan' by the very person who probably is the 'most hated person in Glamorgan'.
