I had a minor bump in April (my fault),then in August whilst I was in bed a Networkrail van reversed into my van, when I rang my insurer not only does the accident I was at fault at count against me,but also the one where I was tucked up in bed. They are quite adamant that my renewal is correct, they did however offer me a policy with another insurer for a shade over £2k,I have since done some phoning around and got it down to near £700,still a fricking rip-off but not as big a rip-off as my current insurer, the term C U Next Tuesday was made for these companies. As long as motor insurance is compulsory the insurance companies will continue to take the piss.My nephew has bought his first car,a P reg Peugeot 306 for £400,his third party only policy cost him £1200,one of the pitfalls of being a 21yr old new driver is you are fair game to these bastards.Talking of bastards,Alain Rolland - how can you sleep at night?

It was a harsh sending off but in the cold light of day they might think about the kicks that failed to go over.
I could give you a lecture about why motor insurance is compulsory but recent increases are mainly due to ambulance chasers taking advantage of new legislation to encourage claims and inflate compensation. If you think this is fair there is no point complaining about premiums.

I can quite understand the ambulance chaser reason,in the bump I had in April I reversed into the side of a car,I was doing probably less than 5mph,she was parking so doing around the same speed, immediately after the bump she was walking around with no blood or bruises.A fortnight later I receive a letter from her solicitor stating she had suffered 'whiplash, lacerations and bruising' on the same letter it stated her time taken off sick in hours because of the horrendous injuries - ZERO hours, reading the injury list you would have thought the twat was on life support.
