Rumney Great Wharf
From Sluice Farm to about 200metres west of 'hide' this morning just 2 Short-eared Owls and 3 Little Egrets. Otherwise wharf eerily quiet with hardly a passerine within sight or sound. Offshore C500 Dunlin and small numbers of Grey Plover, Redshank along with the various ducks. Most of the Curlews. Oystercatchers & Lapwings on the Peterston Great Wharf side.

No ivory-billed woodpecker?
No but there may have been a Spoon-billed Sandpiper with the Dunlin.
Can I suggest a new nickname for Mo? 'Blind Maurice'? Anyone that birds the wharf and fails to find a big rare will share the same fate!
