A visit to an 'upland' Glamorgan moorland/ hillock site produced a Short-eared Owl in classic breeding habitat. Not sure I've (or the other three observers present) have ever seen such a late May (nearly June ) Short-eared Owl  in Glamorgan.

Did you not employ fieldcraft to prove breeding? If you need that done contact me by email ;-)

It's like having John 'Hannibal' Smith at your finger tips -

'(Ten years ago / In 2002), a crack birding unit was sent to prison by a rarities committee for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Garw Valley underground. Today, still wanted by the GRC, they survive as birders of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... The Garw Valley B Team.'

I'll be in touch, my field craft is almost as good as The Dogger is at offering lifts to big rares.

Rand I thought you were against suppression. I couldn't make it down to the Wharf to see them as I heard the place had been claymored (couldn't afford the diesel at the time either).
Never mind they will soon reveal themselves as half term is approaching, its been relatively dry, and the local kids know how to use a clipper lighter...

agreed my new recruits are not up to scratch, the only birds we saw today were *****,*****,*******,******* and best of all *** ****** ****** sorry about the secrecy but there's an embargo on any birding info leaving here and falling into the Cock Rubbers mitts

The Almighty Cock Rubber won't be getting his grubby paws on this record. Are your bunch of crack heads/ B- Team free for a nest search next week? Not sure there's been a SEO breeding record for a while.
