Hi all –

Astonished to discover I "owned" this blog – then realised only part-owned :-) .

Some pics on this blog are astonishing.  My quality here is poor but I was pleased all the same:

Ring ouzel I should think; Rhondda.

When it was looking to the right, it was hiding behind that clump of grass because I could hear (and it could see) a raptor up to the right.

Don't miss this amazing book on bird evolution, which I thoroughly vouch for:

Cheers...

Had them here (3 in 4 years) on the southern edge of the Rhondda but only on passage.

like Adrian,I too have seen them in Rhondda on passage.

oh and welcome to the blog.

I've had them loads of times on passage there and here. I thought the post was referring to now which is still breeding time for the species so unlikely to be on passage. That's usually early October in recent years

Sorry Misty I thought they were meant as passage photos. My mistake.

Ah yes – ousel :-) . Oh, no, it is ouzel !

Sorry – I did forget to say it was on 30th March this year, so presumably on passage. I don't think I've seen one here (or anywhere) before, but I might have forgotten.

Thanks for the welcome to the blog :-) .

I prefer the original spelling, thanks for clearing that up. Nice record, some way to go to match the hundreds passing through a few Autumns ago when they were grounded by fog. NO problem Adrian you were right
