Aythya hybrid Cosmeston

I'm a frequent visitor to this site but this is my first attempt at posting anything. The Scaupy hybrid was very close in at the first viewpoint on the West Lake this morning, I'm not much of a photographer but managed these snaps. Just wondered what people thought it was? Looking through Collins Guide my best guess is Scaup x Tufted?

Welcome to the number one blog in South Wales ! Scaup x Tufted was suggested during a conversation I had with another birder earlier today at the Ogmore Bonies. It's difficult to be sure, but I don't see why not. Maybe we should adopt the old school approach and shot it ;-)

Pochard x Tufted would be my guess.
