drake Lsr Scaup at Cosmeston

just about to leave Cossie this morning when an almost mature drake Lesser Scaup appeared by the cafe. Associating with a small group of Tufties and favouring the area between the cafe boardwalk 'T' junction and the Mute Swan 'beach'.

Looks like this bird has turned in to a subtle hybrid, which was apparently originally on Cheddar Reservoir.
