Sightings

Cosmeston - Very quiet. A few colour ringed LBBGs - white 3NF & Yellow 5PF are Flat Holm birds whilst Blue DKH was a Gloucs Landfill bird caught May 2008, seen at Cosmeston in July 2011 and most recent sighting was from Madrid in Dec 2012. Cardiff Bay - Lots of Mute Swans but couldn't locate the Whooper.At least 50 Great Crested Grebes included young of various sizes indicating at least 4 different broods. Plenty of young Moorhens and a few Tufted Ducks too. Goldcliff - With Lesser Legs and LB Dowitcher at Penclacwydd thought I would chance Goldcliff this evening. Lots of birds but no yanks I am afraid. Dunlin 274, Greenshank 5, Redshank 60+, Common Sandpiper, Little Ringed Plover 6,Black-tailed Godwit 35, Curlew 3, Lapwing, Oystercatcher, & the regular ad Med Gull.
