Biscay Day One - Portsmouth to Santander
Much better weather conditions than last year and thankfully no gale force southerlies, with ideal mill pond sea conditions coming into Santander. Today's totals - seabirds few and far between, quality rather than quantity - Little Shearwater 1, Cory's Shearwater 1, Sooty Shearwater 2,Bonxie 1, Storm Petrel 8, Gannet 9, Sabine's Gull 5, GBBG, LBBG, Yellow-legged Gull, Yellow Wagtail, Redstart (more to come on that one later). Whaley thingees - Fin Whale 23, Sperm Whale 2, Cuvier's Beaked Whale 2, Hump-backed Whale 4, Large Rorqual sp 3, Pilot Whale 3, Common Dolphin 200+, Striped Dolphin 10+, Bottle-nosed Dolphin 3, Thresher Shark 2, Shark sp 3, Ocean Sunfish 1 and lots of Tuna action.
