WTW and Heliport

A single wheatear was on the WTW tip top, along with a grounded Stock Dove. A few chiffchaff were in the lower bushes along the coastal path.

The two juvenile peregrines were both very active. One has decided the black-headed gulls at the Treatment Works make a much more substantial snack than migrants, the other gratefully accepted the Stock Dove after it decided to head east.

A staedy trickle of swallows and meadow pipits was greatly reduced from the numbers of the weekend.

Similar story at Peterstone. 3 Wheatears here and 2 Stock Doves. Passage overhead included some Siskins.

I should probably come clean about the demise of the poor stock dove....how can I put it, I sort of accidentally flushed it and before the poor bugger could find somewhere to rest the peregrine had plucked it out of the sky. Sorry.
