Orphean Warbler

This bird is not easy but managed 2 views today in about 2.5 hours. First a brief view then nearly 2 hours later a fairly good view. Best views were being obtained at the rear of the garden down a short track as it tends to be obscured when in the apple trees. Consenus at present appears to be that it is Western Subalpine. Difficult for photographers but believe a few got lucky.

Maurice, next time you're driving along country roads, please avoid the middle of them! You nearly deprived the world of Alex, Phil, John Martin and myself on your way from Haverfordwest this afternoon with your kamikaze-style driving!
Ps. It's an Eastern Bonelli's Warbler....... ;-)

I was probably getting egged on by Mr Jones. Did not see you anyway. My views were not good enough to say which it was but several people were saying Western there. Interested to see the photos.

What makes it an Eastern ? RBA are still saying probably Western.

Maurice, read Slap and my posts and then engage the humour button.....
I've no reason to doubt it's a Western Orphean Warbler

Sorry mate. I was not aware that Eastern was the rarer one, not in fact on the British list.

Don't know what made me say Subalpine. Dementia on the way ?
