Kingfisher : Parc Slip NR

Spent a few hours this afternoon at the scrape hide hoping to connect with the Bittern when at 2.40pm a male Kingfisher flew in and stayed until 4.50pm when I left, first Kingfisher I've seen from this hide,no sign of the Bittern by the way.

Nice shots Jeff. You do realise that you've now reached your full quota for Kingfisher photos for 2014 - the quota was rubber stamped at the 2013 AGM following the disgraceful 'kingfishergate' scandal of autumn 2012?

Top shot shows a purple sheen to the ruffled feathers really nice.
