Red-necked Phalarope Migration


Sat tags and geo-locators are rapidly changing some of our pre held perceptions of bird migration and where birds spend the winter. Fetlar Red-necked Phalarope wintering on the Pacific Ocean off South America.

They should try tagging eastern race Iceland Gulls?

Had a red necked Phal in the Yala area of Sri Lanka at the end of November 13 - needless to say they are not common there. I guess the liklihood is that it was from Russia/Alaska/Washington.
