Cheers guys! My luck was in today,i arrived at first light to find i was alone,i picked the bird up immediately feeding off the rivermouth for about 20 mins then it moved to Jackstones pier where it fed for about 2 mins.It was picked out by Clive Hurford feeding really close.

Great Shot. It's surprising how difficult it is to get the autofocus to lock on a small gull over water. The Ross's Gull was doing exactly the same thing at first light on Sunday, feeding off the River Mouth and ranging up to the pier and back There were a lot of Black-headed Gulls doing the same thing too but as activity on the beach increased the number of gulls decreased accordingly. Seems like a visit early doors is the best ploy.

Nice one Rob.

Yes, Rob did really well, I was stood next to him and didn't get any decent pics for the reason that Alex mentioned, i.e. that the focus wouldn't lock on against the moving background. Clive H
