With the constant high and fast flowing water levels on the near by Taff (and the abundance of frogs fighting to spawn in my garden pond - after fish, frogs are the most important secondary food for otter) it is hardly surprising to suggest that our local otter population are seeking alternative hunting grounds and food sources. Finding a very fresh otter spraint at the side my garden pond this morning (resplendently aromatic) was not only a garden tick but an advert for the benefits of garden pond creation ( for a extremely well written and balanced article on otters and garden ponds can I direct you to this fantastic piece of jounalism http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2086794/Warning-otters-snatch-expensive-koi-carp-garden-ponds.html)
