Lavernock

Lots of migrants but a prolonged effort failed to produce any rares. Early morning around the church and coastal path - Chiff Chaff 30+, Willow Warbler 2, Blackcap 10+, Whitethroat 2, Wheatear 1. Also, but not seen by me Sedge Warbler and Spotted Flycatcher. Overhead, Swallows moving through all morning, along with a strong movement of Meadow Pipits, together with Pied Wagtails, Skylark, Chaffinch, 2 Redpoll & 17 Jay. A return visit after lunch to the reserve this time, produced Spotted Flycatcher 2, Chiff Chaff 10+, Blackcap 5, Whitethroat 2, Lesser Whitethroat 1 and a few Goldcrests.
