The Vale hide.

Popped in for a sandwich and a coffee and within minutes a Spotted Fly tried to land on the ledge just 18" from me.
Returned mid afternoon and 5 were present on various perches, also giving good views were Whitethroat, Blackcap, 2 Chiffys, 3 Yellowhammers, goldfinches greenfinches  and a few other common species, all that came to drink and bathe.
There were 2 chiffys drinking together and Spotfly and Yellowhammer together!
Spotfly was coming to drink and bathe about every 15 mins often as close as 12 ft.
Slap managed the last hour and we enjoyed several visits from the Spotfly  together.
Photos soon.

I've seen more Spot Fly's this year locally than any year since the early 80's. Two in Sully this evening on the way to the shop. Let's hope they're bucking the trend....
