Bit of a heads up on some good birding in Torbay presently.
At Broadsands Beach in the last week there has been Yellow-browed Warbler, Siberian Chiffchaff, up to 5 Firecrests, 5 Cirl Buntings, 2 Slavonian Grebes, 5 Black-necked Grebes, Red-necked Grebe, 9 Great Northern Divers, Black-throated Diver & Velvet Scoter. Calm sea conditions are best & the grebes & divers can move between Brixham Harbour & Preston beach, Paignton. Also present are a pod of Bottle-nosed Dolphins numbering between 15 & 20 including young animals. In addition there is a nice flock of 9 Cirl Buntings around the car park and adjacent fields at Labrador Bay RSPB between Torquay & Shaldon. In the Exeter area there has been an American Wigeon at Bowling Green Marsh & a Bonepartes Gull at Dawlish along with similar grebes & divers plus a large Avocet flock at Topsham. Lucky bas***ds.

Did you see the Dolphins yourselves?
Apparently the White beaked Dolphins are still about!
Steve, we watched them leaping clear of the water many times & Mr Cetacean Hunt was happy they were all Bottle-nosed. My understanding is the White-beaked's are slightly further east in Lyme Bay in an area of slightly colder water.
Not too long ago a pod were seen in Devon.
All B-n D's Steve. Am aware of the White-beaked's and that's why I was checking them constantly. Obvious animals when you get half decent views.
Steve, it seems there was a pod of 8 seen off Plymouth on two dates in June this year.
