It s OK Jeff,you carry on lugging that 2tonne lump of metal around and when your lumbago is giving you too much jipp (sp?) you can ask Smudger or me if we will let you have a play with the super sharp and lightweight 'boys lens'.
Seriously though, having owned a 500mm f4 and now this baby,the 300 2.8 is is so much more versatile and sharper than a very sharp thing even with t/c's attached.

Not at all,it's a fantastic lens and I would love to own one.
It would have to be "as well as" and not "instead of" though.
