Kenfig Saltmarsh
I blundered into a Bittern as I walked down river toward the marsh, it took off right in front of me an give me quite a start ! didn't mean to flush as you don't expect to see 'em nr a birch thicket. I saw another flying past me from the kenfig direction 5 mins later. Other birds of note; 100+ Teal, 2 Herons, 6 Snipe, Sparrow hawk, Kestrel + several Water rail and Cetti's heard, oh and I saw a very pale phase buzzard perch on a slack and when I got closer another buzzard flew at it from behind and the pair of them were rolling around clawing at each other. I've never seen the like of it before. Only 1 Bittern seen in flight at kenfig nnr, pool still mostly frozen.
