Cosmeston
Late Morning - lots of Gulls included Med Gull & 9 Common Gulls. Also colour ringed LBB Gull. Anyone got the details for this bird ? A wander up to the bridge and back produced a few Goldcrests and a Chiff Chaff.
LBU was one of 38 Lesser Black-backed Gulls trapped and colour-ringed by The Severn Estuary Gull Group on 26/03/2011 at Gloucester Landfill Site, Hempsted, Gloucestershire. This is the first reported sighting of this bird since it was ringed. To report a ringed bird go to the BTO's home page: www.bto.org/ and click on 'Report a Ringed Bird'.
Thanks for that Dan. If my memory serves me right Hempsted Landfill was where they trapped Glaucous-winged Gull. Seeing as it subsequently ended up in Carms at Ferryside presumably it flew through Glamorgan. So keep an eye out at Cosmeston I guess!

Looks good to me! Pale head,heavy dark bill,long primaries, even the pale edged tertials (not notched!)all fit.
poor sod - those shackles round the legs are for life !!
