Pontsticill Res, Merthyr

Juvenile/1st-w Glaucous Gull and juvenile/1st-w Iceland Gull in the gull roost late this afternoon. Both arrived with Herring Gulls from the south (Merthyr) and joined the roost about midway between the car park on the west side and sailing club on east side. Glaucous came in at 16.05 and Iceland at 16.45 and at one point seen side by side. Roost comprised c.800 Herring Gulls and c.40 Lesser Black-backeds by time I left at 17.20, though many still arriving as the light rapidly faded.
