Go on, I'll start the ball rolling, here are some of my 'tarts'/most wanted - Sykes's Warbler, American Herring Gull, Audouin's Gull, Calandra Lark, Rubythroat, Crested Lark, Wallcreeper, Song Sparrow, Yellow Warbler.....here's some of the species I never want to turn up again coz I've seen them, Varied Thrush, Golden-w Warbler, Yellow-throated Vireo, Black-browed Albatross, Black-billed Cuckoo...cue or two of those to appear before the year's out!

Same as Phil apart from the Rubythroat ;-) Stood next to him in Corsica watching Audouin's Gull when we heard about the 1st record of Audouin's Gull at Dung! Crested Lark holds a special place in my heart, being the British tick I have missed by the shortest period of time. We could see the crowd of birders watching it in the car park at Felixstowe as we parked the car. By the time we walked over it had flown just behind "that building over there". No worries, let's wander over and have a look.....and that was that :-(

I have dipped several Great Snipes but really must make an effort to chase the next American Herring Gull. Phil 89/90 holds some good blockers. You forgot the Red-breasted Nuthatch and Ancient Murrelet and Black-billed Cuckoo has turned into a Monster rare so we don't want that turning up again! Taiga Flycatcher springs to mind and July/Aug is great month for Red-necked Stint. The only consolation on dipping that last time around was bagging a PG Tips later the same day!

Not forgetting Red breasted Nuthatch or Black faced bunting, slender billed Gull or yellow browed bunting ....

Having given up on "twitching", at least long-distance ones, the one I have dipped on the most is Great Spotted Cuckoo,4 times if you count the Kenfig bird.

Certainly all Phil's and many more
besides!

Nighthawk is probably the most wanted having dipped 3 birds.
As we stepped off the Scillonian to board the boat to St Agnes the news hit us with a sledgehammer ... The bird had just been picked up dead!!
I even held the bird in my hand, it was still fresh!!
The decision to try for the not so reliable 2nd bird on St Mary's was again unsuccessfull, it was flying around the pines next to the cafe as we stuffed ourselves on cream tea. Only to miss it by seconds as it flew across the field!!
