Sightings

Water Treatment Works am - strong Swallow passage east - a timed count produced 100 birds every five minutes.   Also strong passage of Meadow Pipits along with a few Pied and Grey Wagtails. Bushes devoid of small birds with only 1 Chiff Chaff.

Cosmeston -  Tufted Duck 30, Gadwall 2, Chiff Chaff 6, Willow Warbler 1, Green Woodpecker, Yellow-legged Gull 1CY amongst the Gulls coming to bread. A planned coffee break was interrupted by a text from Randal so it was back to WTW to look for the Wryneck. A prolonged period of stomping around the top of the tip with several other observers failed to relocate the bird. Very frustrating! Other birds included Wheatear, ad Med Gull and a flock of Canada Geese.

Cardiff Bay - lots of Gulls this evening, included an adult Yellow-legged Gull,
