Burry Holms yesterday

Missed out on the putative Thayer's Gull which showed briefly before "Pedro" and myself arrived, got to see the Kumlien's Gull and managed a distant record shot although for all the time that we were there coinciding with the high tide we were viewing into the sun.
Some more photogenic stuff in the cove around the corner from the island and on the beach on the walk back.

Brilliant. So now we've moved on to yet another sub-species of the same species that isn't even a species in the first place....unless you're an American lister of course.

Its a good job we all don't live on Vancouver Island / Washington - a lifetime could be had sorting out the gulls there!
